This International Women’s Day we’re proud to announce a new partnership with TreeSisters and our ambitious plan to plant one million trees with our phones. TreeSisters put community and women’s empowerment at the heart of their tree planting projects. Together we’ll be celebrating all the awesome things that trees do above and beyond absorbing carbon from the atmosphere 🎉

We’re really proud to be a carbon negative company. That means that we take out twice as much carbon from the air as we’re responsible for. We do this by planting trees 🌳  – and lots of them – because trees absorb carbon from the atmosphere. But there are lots of other reasons why trees are great – beyond offsetting carbon emissions. Trees are home to animals , they prevent soil erosion 🌍, protect ocean health 🌊 and support communities by giving people jobs. When trees are cut down it has a knock-on effect – land becomes difficult to farm, it can lead to flooding and the normal circle of life is disrupted which can often lead to poverty.

That’s why we’ve decided to give trees the credit they deserve 🏆 Now, on top of our commitment to being a carbon negative business through our partnership with On A Mission – we are working with TreeSisters to fund the planting of an extra one million trees – or what we like to call the Honest Forest.

We’ve chosen to partner with TreeSisters because they share our love of the planet 💚 and celebrate the positive impact trees have 🥳  – like the key part they play in promoting biodiversity 🦜, providing homes for animals 🐵  and preventing flooding 🌊 We love TreeSisters’ vision of restoring forests using indigenous species, fostering local knowledge and skills, and encouraging women’s participation. They focus on planting trees ‘intelligently, appropriately, respectfully and successfully’ – paying a fair wage to people in poverty as agents of global forest restoration. Our Honest Forest is being grown all around the world by different communities.
