improving EU roaming and Smart Travel

changes to EU roaming

From the 5th September 2022 we’re adding more countries to free EU Roaming.

Free EU roaming lets you use your phone as normal while travelling in EU (and a few non-EU) countries. Make calls and send texts to UK numbers as normal and use your normal data allowance up to a maximum of 20GB /month. 

EU Roaming will now include Switzerland, Jersey, Isle of Man and Guernsey.

changes to Smart Travel

From the 5th of September 2022 we’re doubling your data allowance from 500MB to 1GB /day when using the Smart Travel bolt-on in Zone 1 countries.

The Smart Travel bolt-on gives you a set number of minutes, message and data each day.

Zone 1 – £7.50 /day

1GB, 200 minutes, 200 texts.

Zone 2 – £18.50 /day

50MB, 20 minutes, 10 texts.

Zone 3 – £18.50 /day

5MB, 5 minutes, 5 texts.

We’re also changing the zone of some of the countries when using the Smart Travel bolt-on.

29 countries have been moved to Zone 1:

Albania, Argentina, Armenia, Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Faroe Islands, Gabon, Georgia, Guatemala, Honduras, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, Uruguay.

11 countries have been moved to Zone 2:

Botswana, Dominican Republic, Guam, Jordan, Macao, Oman, Senegal, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan.

8 countries have been moved to Zone 3:

Bolivia, Congo Democratic Republic, Guyana, Phillippines, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia.
